Pinoy Fear Factor: Argentina, South America Full Trailer
October 30th, 2008Meet three more ‘participantes’ in “Pinoy Fear Factor”
October 29th, 2008“May beterinaryo kami, may kargador sa Tondo, may chef, may estudyante na nag-i-intern sa… Well, it’s a good mix of participantes.”
This is how Direk Laurenti Dyogi, business unit head for Fear Factor, described the contestants of the local adaptation of American reality show Fear Factor.
Pinoy Fear Factor challengers were chosen through a series of auditions. Direk Lauren said, “Like in [Pinoy] Big Brother, we had a cattle call in Manila, Cebu, and Davao. We sent invitations to some managers, talent scouts para magpadala ng mga interesado. Then, mayroon din kaming in-entertain, like sila LJ [Moreno], ‘yong manager niya [told us] na interesado noong malaman na may Fear Factor.”
He even added, “Actually, Ryan has to audition. He has to go through about three of the tests so that we know kung ano ‘yong fears niya.”
Now, Pinoy Fear Factor discloses the three other chosen “participantes” who dared to do the stunts and challenges to be hailed as the first “El Ultimo Participante.”
As Direk Lauren has previously said, a veterinarian was included in their list. Elmer Felix, 25, is a Kapampangan hunk who took the board exam thrice to earn his license as a certified veterinarian. Elmer’s greatest fears include drowning, deep water, exotic and unusual edibles.
Next is a 25-year-old ramp and commercial model named Gail Nicolas. The sexy body of this lady from Quezon City made her the grand winner of the 2007 Mossimo Bikini Summit. For those who didn’t notice, Gail also played the role of Elsa in Gloc-9’s and Francis M’s music video “Lando.”
Also joining this batch is Jommy Teotico from Manila. This 24-year-old guy grew up to be a playboy and easy-going fellow. An incident changed all this, however, and made him decide to be simply the “alaskador” Jommy.

“Pinoy Fear Factor” reveals 5 of the 12 ‘participantes’
October 29th, 2008PEP’s (Philippine Entertainment Portal) report about two celebrities that are included in the local adaptation of the U.S. reality show Fear Factor was confirmed when the audio-visual presentation of the “participantes” was shown during its press conference held last Monday, October 27, at the 9501 Restaurant, ABS-CBN Compound in Quezon City.
Phoemela Barranda and LJ Moreno are two of the first five “participantes” that were introduced in public last night in Bandila. The others include former basketball player Ram Sagad, stand-up comedienne Jamie Ann “Janna” Dominguez, and balikbayan Marion Angelo dela Cruz.
Phoem and LJ were chosen through special auditions that were held for celebrities who wished to join the contest.
Direk Laurenti Dyogi, business unit head for Pinoy Fear Factor, explained that aside from the open auditions, “We sent invitations to some managers, talent scouts para magpadala ng mga interesado. Then, mayroon din kaming in-entertain, like sila LJ, ‘yong manager niya [told us] na interesado noong malaman na may Fear Factor. Mayroon din namang mga artista na nagsabi na interesado or want to join Fear Factor.”
Janna Dominguez, 18, can also be considered a celebrity in the group because she used to host the noontime variety show Wowowee and is one of the supporting cast in the all-female gag show Banana Split.
The 23-year-old Ram Sagad used to play for San Sebastian College-Recolletos de Manila Golden Stag team in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). In 2007, he was hailed as the Century Tuna Superbod, which made him the endorser of Century Tuna.
Marion Angelo dela Cruz is not a celebrity but he dared to take all the challenges prepared by the Pinoy Fear Factor team. A soccer player who grew up in Vienna, Austria, Marion was sent to the Philippines to live with his lola because he had become too much to handle with all the vices and trouble that he got himself into.
These are just five of the twelve “participantes” who will compete against each other to become the first “El Ultimo Participante” of Pinoy Fear Factor. Watch their strategies to win on ABS-CBN Primetime Bida starting November 10. Philippine Entertainment Portal
“Pinoy Fear Factor” contestants include two showbiz personalities — source
